The urgency to respond to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has given us a unique opportunity to reinvent cities.

From the City Transformation Community, which includes representatives from the public and private sectors, civil society entities, citizen movements, universities and research centres, we contribute to generating collaboration spaces to face the challenge of European city recovery.

The main objective is to consolidate a multi-stakeholder platform that includes transformative and systemic projects that accelerate the processes of environmental, economic and social change in order to achieve the European Mission for 100 Climate-neutral Cities by 2030, by and for citizens.

In May 2020, after identifying synergies between the City Transformation Community and the mirror group of the European Mission of Cities, appointed to define and co-design the mission in Spain, a new group was proposed to be created, as an extension from the fusion of these two spaces.

Through participation from specialists and decision-makers from all sectors of society, urban challenges will be collectively interpreted and cross-cutting and integrative solutions will be sought to implement the European Mission of Cities in Spain.
